In this week's Farmers Market Friday, we share a reminder of our pet policy along with tips for a successful trip to the Madison Farmers Market for both you and your four-legged friends!
We love your pups and are so excited to have them at the market, but we want to ensure that everyone has an awesome experience, not just those with pets.
Our Pet Policy at the Madison Farmers Market is as follows:
Please keep your pet on a leash at all times and keep them close to your person.
Do not enter the prepared food area or Indoor Market Space with your pet. Pets are only permitted within the Outdoor Market layout.
If your pet is misbehaving, please excuse yourselves from the Market. Even the best pups misbehave sometimes, it’s no big deal! Give your pet some time to calm down before returning to the market space.
Please ensure your pet is respectful to all of our vendors’ property, especially those with beautiful crafts and artwork.
Please take your pets outside of the market footprint if they need to use the bathroom and remember to clean up after them!
Tips for a Successful Trip
Be sure to check the weather before deciding to bring your pet. Hot sunny days and a market set up on asphalt are not a good mix for a puppy's sensitive paws.
Remember to bring items like water, a collapsible bowl, a leash (required), and bags to clean up after your pet to make the trip enjoyable for all!
If you've forgotten water, stop by the Trinity United Methodist Church tent where free water is offered to our customers.
Visit vendor Davis Farms, below, to pick up a package of homemade (and certified!) dog treats to reward your pet for their good behavior at the market!
Davis Farms offers homemade and certified dog treats as a part of their product lineup.
We can't wait to see you and your pets down at the market!
