LOCAL MUSIC AT THE MADISON FARMERS MARKET

In this week's Farmers Market Friday, we're going to share about our bi-weekly live music available at the Madison Farmers Market.

In conjunction with the Madison Main Street Promotions Chair, we have scheduled a fantastic lineup of local musicians for this summer, live at the Madison Farmers Market.

Market Musicians perform from 10 am - 12 pm on their scheduled dates in front of the Broadway Fountain providing a beautiful backdrop to their performance.

All performances are free and open to the public. Market Musicians receive compensation for their performance and accept tips if you feel so inclined. Unscheduled busking is not permitted at the Madison Farmers Market.

Any local musicians (limited to solo, duo, or trio acts) interested in performing at the Market should contact Market Manager, Gina Johnson, to discuss availability.

Bottom Row (L to R) Joel Curtis, Stick & Bindle, Cheryl Liz

We'll have performances from some familiar faces that you may remember from Summer 2021 or earlier including:

Tradesmen Duo, a group made of upright bass player Greg Beach and guitar player Dan Lawson. Greg and Dan worked together in the skilled trades at the Ford Kentucky Truck Plant where Greg was an electrician and Dan a toolmaker. Their set list includes country, rock, and folk - there's something for everyone no matter your taste in music!

Bee Camp Bottom Boys bring the party to Broadway for every performance and we are thrilled to welcome them on two upcoming busy market weekends as they perform on both Regatta and Chautauqua weekends. Their set list includes bluegrass and old country, paired with the energy that Bee Camp is known for.

Charlsee Gandee is a singer-songwriter from Henry County, KY. She has been singing since the tender age of 8. Her style incorporates earthy folk tones, classic country, and rock influences. Her songs are written from her travels and life experiences.

Joel Curtis offers finely crafted songs in the vein of America's best acoustic folk, blues, and country traditions. With a soulful baritone reminiscent of John Gorka meets Van Morrison, Joel delivers powerful lyrics that couch healing honesty in unforgettable imagery, witty wordplay, and gorgeous folk melodies.

To our lineup we are adding two new Market Musicians this summer:

Stick & Bindle is a folk/Americana duo out of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. It is a side project made up of Anne Bangert and Steve Covington, both of Steve Covington and The Humble Strays. Their set list includes an eclectic mix of originals and obscure covers.

Folk musician Cheryl Liz writes songs in order to make sense of the messiness of being alive.

Mostly drawing on folk, pop, Americana, and traditional music for inspiration, she plays guitar, fiddle, and piano. Music can speak of truth. Writing songs is like a magical moment, like a bird swooping down and landing in your hand. Sometimes when you are open and perceptive, beauty and pain can transform into something more. She writes songs in order to remember who she is, and what she knows to be true.

We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming Market Musician performance at the Madison Farmers Market!
