The Upper Room Glow is a salon rooted in faith offering a full range of beauty services designed to leave every client glowing with confidence! Janet Jines and Kelcey Gilbert started their journey with a shared vision. “Initially, we were part of a different salon but quickly had to pivot and through prayer and discernment, we sensed God leading us to rebrand and unite under a new banner,” said Janet.

Within the past two years, the salon has seen incredible growth, including a move to their new location at 630 W Main Street and welcoming Kelsey McConnell to the team. “We aim to inspire hope, healing, and wholeness in the lives of women by providing exceptional beauty and wellness services in a warm, inclusive, and Christ-centered atmosphere.” Janet shared.

The Upper Room Glow offers a variety of services, including spray tans for that sun-kissed look without the damage, lash enhancements to boost your natural beauty, bridal and event makeup to help you shine on your big day, rejuvenating facials and head spa treatments, full hair services (including extensions), and body waxing for silky-smooth skin.

The space is full of both comfort and fun, with pops of pink and a welcoming atmosphere. “We're humbled to create a space where creativity, community, and compassion come together, reflecting God's love and beauty,” said Janet. “As we grow and evolve, we remain anchored in our mission to honor Him in all we do.” The Upper Room Glow stives to bring confidence to all those that visit while also sharing the joys of their faith. Kelsey McConnell shares that her favorite part of the day is seeing the look of excitement on her clients’ faces when they see their new hair transformation. “This career is so rewarding in so many ways,” said Kelsey.

The Upper Room Glow has brought so many memorable moments and special feelings to the ladies who work there. For Janet, the journey has been especially personal, having run a salon with her mother from 2008 until her mother’s passing in 2022. The loss seemed to have been the end of her career in the salon industry for Janet, or so she thought! “But God! He opened all the doors and here we are!” said Janet.

Together, Janet, Kelcey and Kelsey work as a team to achieve their goal of having each of their clients leave looking and feeling great and with a sense of love and feeling valued. “The Upper Room is more than just a salon; we're a beacon of hope and light in the heart of downtown. As we serve our community, we're driven by a passion to spread God's love and beauty to all who walk through our doors.”
