Lovers of sweet treats alert!
Topper’s on Main is the next best thing to heaven for those in need of satisfying a demanding sweet tooth. Located on the corner of Poplar and Main (301 W), this bright and welcoming spot offers treats galore.
Three years ago, Alexis and David Gulley were perusing Facebook Marketplace, and discovered a frozen yogurt shop for sale. The couple traveled to Madison to meet the owner, and fell immediately in love with the community It was not long before Alexis and David were the proud new owners of the shop. T he couple has spent the last three years learning, experimenting, and testing a variety of sweet treats. The result of all of their work and devotion is evident when visiting the shop.

Self serve frozen yogurt includes sugar and dairy free options. Although there are 100 different flavors of frozen yogurt available, the Gulley’s specialize in three main flavors at a time, with creative mixtures such as upside down pineapple cake and chocolate peanut butter Reese’s some of their favorites. Flavors are rotated to add an never ending variety of tasty combos.
Traditional scoop ice cream is offered in twelve different flavors at any one time, with seasonal flavors offered at certain times of the year.
One of the favorite treats is rolled ice cream, which is made fresh every day. Much experimentation resulted in the creation of this shop specialty. Rolled ice cream, as compared to traditional ice cream is extra creamy, rich and sweet. Each serving of rolled ice cream is custom prepared for each customer. After choosing two toppings, they are chopped and rolled into the ice cream, resulting in a serving of pure joy to the taste buds.

The shop has joined the dirty soda craze, and offers a variety of refreshing possibilities. Shop owner Alexis describes the drink as “sort of like a melted milkshake with fizz.”
Dirty soda can be easily customized to individual’s tastes with a wide assortment of options available at the shop. For those watching calories, diet soft drinks can be “dirtied up”.
A favorite combo of dirty soda customers is cookie dough with Zanzibar chocolate. Sounds like a reasonable and tasty choice! Boba pearls are also available a tasty addition to the tasty offerings.

The busy Gulley family balances ice cream life with six kids, teaching and coaching basketball (Alexis), roofing contracting (David), and six nights of the week filled with family sports activities.
One of the couple’s young daughters has already declared she would like to someday run the business.
“I love everything Madison,” said Alexis.
And I, for one, am thrilled that this busy family is willing to share their passion for delightful treats on Madison’s Main Street.
The shop can be visited Thursday – Monday 12 – 8. Bon appetit!
