Two great events are coming to The Lumber Mill Antique Mall this fall. The “Chautauqua Open House,” on September 29-30; and the “Deal with the Dealer” sale, on November 1, 2025. The Chautauqua Open House will feature pretzels, cookies, hot dogs, and popcorn, available on the newly renovated outdoor patio and garden area. Sydney McCammon, Sydney Scapes, designed and created the welcoming outdoor space on the east side of the building. She noted that additional greenery will be planted in the spring.
Madison’s largest antique mall, 30,000 square feet, offers a treasure hunt for everyone from the casual shopper to the serious collector. Over 50 vendors fill 120 spaces in a sprawling 3-story building featuring displays of antique toys, coins, signs, tools, glassware, furniture, architectural salvage and more. Fresh custom-made specialty cookies, from the on-site bakery, are the perfect energy snack while shopping. There’s even a “Tired Shopper/Bored Husband” lounge with hot coffee and cold drinks.

Dean Miller purchased the building in 1989. He renovated the interior and built the vendor spaces to be well organized with good traffic flow and bright lighting. Each booth is carefully curated with an interesting mix of items. Wide aisles provide ample space for wheel chair shoppers. Miller’s son, Dan Ozio, recently purchased the business, but Miller is continuing to manage the daily operations. “People want things they remember from their grandparents. It used to be items from the 1930’s and 1940’s. Now the items from the 1950’s and 1960’s, such as Formica tables, are in demand,” Miller explained. “A quick visit will take two to three hours,” he added.

Architectural salvage items include more than 30 doors, plus door moldings, door knobs and door locks. The Lumber Mill Antique Mall is one of few places that stocks these types of antique building materials. Collectible antique signs are displayed throughout the building, advertising familiar products such as Coke and Pepsi-Cola.
Beautiful glassware is timeless. One booth highlights colored glassware on shelves in front of a sunny west window. Art glass, decorative glassware, vases, serving pieces, dinnerware, and stemware are just a few of the beautiful options. These items are the perfect unique gift.
Antique toys are another popular collectible. They range from dolls, doll dishes and furniture to antique toy trucks and pedal cars. Classic antique display cabinets, side tables, dining tables, chairs, pie safes, and Hoosier cabinets each offer the opportunity to be the special statement piece for any room.

Interior stairs connect the main floor to the lower and upper floors. The main floor is wheel-chair accessible from First Street, with parking in front of the building. The lower level is wheel chair accessible from the parking lot on Plum Street.
