Years ago, while visiting Chicago, Lacey Castor was inspired by the many unique shopping experiences offered by the small boutiques located throughout the city.

Fast forward, she and her daughters Mallory, 21, and Lainey, 17, have put their creative talents together and opened up one of Madison’s newest shopping experiences, LML District. Located at 322 W. Main, LML is open seven days a week. (Sunday - Thursday 10-5, Friday - 10-6, and Saturday - 9-5.)

As Lacey’s mother (who also shares her talents and friendly personality for this charming family affair) exclaimed to me during a recent visit, “We want to have something for everyone!”

And indeed, this talented group of multigenerational ladies are doing just that.

On my recent visit, I viewed everything from coloring books to cowboy boots. Purses, eyeglasses, artisan laundry detergent - you name it, and if you can’t find what you want in the store, the friendly staff is happy to assist you in ordering it.

The selection of clothing includes a variety of boho style dresses, classic styles, and fun tee shirts and sweatshirts. Also sprinkled throughout the shop is a selection of unique jewelry and accessories.

I confided to Lacey that the selection made me want to go back to work so I could have someplace to wear all of the cute clothes I found myself surrounded by in this exceptional little shop.

A book lovers nook offers journals, biographies of some of our favorite super stars, a selection of coloring books for ages 5-85, and women’s interest books.

Lacey explained that she was a UK fan, and her husband an IU fan. Celebrating both loyalties to their favorite schools, Lacey and her team have a collection of fun and original items of clothing and small gift items - living in harmony in one space!

When husband Scott’s co-workers suggested their preference for Purdue items, Purdue merchandise joined the mix.

Scott, who grew up in a Madison, is a life long Regatta fan. Artisan cocktail glasses designed by Scott and other Regatta items are available to help give Regatta celebrations that special sparkle.
