Where is Winter Market held?

You can find vendors both outdoors on Broadway between Main St. and 3rd Street and in the Indoor Market Space in Trinity United Methodist Church on Broadway.

What are the hours for Winter Market?

Winter Market is open from 10 am - 12 pm every Saturday from October through April, rain or shine. We will occasionally close if the weather is severe or if the conditions are not safe for us to open. Updates will be shared on our social media profiles so we encourage our customers to follow us on Facebook and Instagram

What types of products will I find at Winter Market?

The types of products you can find at Winter Market will not vary greatly from what you see at Summer Market. We will continue to have items such as freshly baked goods, locally raised beef, pork, chicken, lamb, goat, farm fresh eggs, handmade home decor, jewelry and fiber arts, goat milk products including soaps, chapstick, lip balm, and beard oils.

We will continue to have produce as well but as a 100% producer-only market you will only find items that are in season for this region. We encourage you to speak with our vendors about what produce is coming into season and what new items they will be bringing to market as the temperatures change.

Current In-Season Produce includes microgreens, carrots, potatoes, winter squash, cabbage, and leafy greens.

How can I find out who will be attending as a vendor every week?

Follow our social media pages for a weekly market preview including a list of attending vendors and products you will be able to find at our market. This preview is shared on both our Instagram and Facebook pages.

Can I apply to be a vendor?

Yes! We accept applications on a rolling basis until we are full. We recommend that if you are interested in applying that you reach out to our Market Manager first to learn more about our market and for us to get to know you and your business better. We are currently accepting applications for the 2023-2024 Winter Market.

All vendors must review and agree to the standards set forth in the 2023 Madison Farmers Market Handbook

Are there opportunities to volunteer with the Madison Farmers Market?

Yes! We are always seeking volunteers for the Madison Farmers Market and have opportunities to serve available year-round. We appreciate our volunteers so much and could not do what we do without them.

Volunteers are needed for the set-up and tear down of the market. Volunteers assist the Market Manager in setting up barricades to safely secure the street during the closure as well as any needed signage for the market. They may also assist with the setup of our Market Info Table and help to staff the table if needed. At the end of the market, volunteers assist the Market Manager with collecting any items that were set up and moving them to storage so they are ready for the following week.

If you are interested in volunteering with the Madison Farmers Market please visit our signup page or email our Market Manager.

Can I drive up to the vendor's booths to pick up my items?

No - Southbound Broadway between Main St. and 3rd St. is closed on Saturdays from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm to allow us to safely set up, hold, and tear down the market. Vehicles within the street closure area, during these hours, will be towed for the safety of the market.

The street is closed to all vehicles during market hours and is open for pedestrian traffic only. This means that golf carts and other motorized vehicles are not permitted within the market space during these times. For the safety of all those in attendance, we will ask anyone violating this to remove their golf cart or vehicle from the market space immediately.

Are pets permitted at the Market?

Pets are permitted in the outdoor market spaces only. Pets are not permitted in the Indoor Market Space. If you anticipate needing to enter the Indoor Market Space, please leave your pets at home. Pets cannot be left unattended outside and are not the responsibility of market staff or vendors.

We are a pet-friendly market for friendly pets! If your pet struggles to stay calm around other customers and pets, we get it! We all have our days. We kindly ask that you leave them at home or remove them from the market space for the safety and comfort of all those within the market. Owners are expected to take responsibility for their pets including cleaning up after them.

Where should I park when coming to visit the Winter Market?

During the Winter Market, we recommend parking on Broadway between Main St. and 2nd St. , or between 3rd St. and 4th St. for the closest access to the market. Additionally, customers are welcome to park along beautiful and historic Main Street so they can visit the market and then shop at some of our wonderful downtown Main Street businesses afterward. Visit our To-Do Downtown page to learn more about downtown businesses.
